EPISODE 808
Cybercrime Wave
OVERVIEW
As with every new technology, artificial intelligence (AI) comes with risks. Before utilizing the opportunities and rewards AI has to offer, it’s important to fully investigate its vulnerabilities in order to manage associated risks.
EPISODE 806
Who Do You Think You're Talking To?
OVERVIEW
A UK-based energy company was recently scammed out of $243,000 by hackers running a “Deep Fake Audio Scam,” a scam that uses artificial intelligence (A.I.) to replicate voices of people we know and trust. In this episode, starring Robert Davi as Louie Sr., we learn about how bad actors maliciously use artificial intelligence to run “Deep Fake Audio Scams”.
EPISODE 905
I Can't Believe What I'm Seeing

EPISODE 901
GIGO: Garbage In, Garbage Out
OVERVIEW
23andMe suffered a data breach resulting in the theft of user genetic information including ethnicity and family relationships. The rapid implementation of public generative artificial intelligence models, such as ChatGPT, has led to two types of risk: Input risk, where sensitive data entered into G.A.I. can be stolen by hackers, and output risk, where information generated by G.A.I. is wrong or biased. Extreme caution must be taken when using this tool.
Why the focus on AI?
While advancements in generative AI have enabled more creativity, boosted productivity, and unlocked business value, the technology poses significant social engineering risks.
Generative AI can be exploited to create convincing deepfakes, generate malicious phishing emails, or produce fraudulent content that manipulates public opinion and deceives individuals. The sophistication and realism of AI-generated outputs make it increasingly challenging to distinguish between genuine and fake information, thereby heightening the effectiveness of cyberattacks and misinformation campaigns. Even low-quality efforts like cheapfakes or poorly prompted phishing copy have proved effective against the public.
NINJIO is committed to empowering people to meet that threat. Our campaign for National Cybersecurity Awareness Month 2024, Stay AI Aware, offers cybersecurity awareness training material addressing this issue to our clients, partners, prospective customers, and the public.
